Philips new HDD093 and HDD095

Philips HDD093/HDD095

Well, it appears Philips is due to release two more models, the HDD093 and HDD095, which will have 3GB drives, ten hours of battery life, play back MP3s and WMA, and have grayscale and color screens, respectively. But their new gimmick? It’s called Like Music, and as the name implies if you engage it while listening to a song it’ll pseudo-randomly and intelligently shuffle you up 20 more tracks that it thinks sounds similar to what’s on . I guess they just had to follow the trend started by this player.
Anyways, even if you won't need that, the player is pretty small and well designed.

Cannes XV: Oakley's and Motorola's RAZRwire

Ok, so here are the first live-pics of the bluetooth enabled sunglasses from Oakley.
As you can see, they've got a earbud on the left side. You can use these glasses as a headset and/or as a music player.

Cannes XIV: The Philips Lineup

Philips Logo
Philips 162

First of, here is the Philips 162, the entry level handset. The 162 packs a 101x80 pixel color display,
polyphonic ringtones, and a 300 hour standby 4 hour talk battery into an 82 gram candybar. The 162 should reach
European markets by the end of this month according to Philips.

Philips 760
The 760 clamshell joins a 1.3 megapixel camera with a 65k screen that will swivel 180 degrees, thereby turning the
handset into a proper camera. A TV link provides the ability for the phone to automatically begin a slideshow
when it recognizes the television. Software in the 760 allows users to modify their photos with frames, icons,
and text as well. The whole sleek package clocks in at 104 grams.

Philips Xenium 9@98
Appealing to the business user, the Xenium 9@98 forgoes a camera or music playback for something far more
valuable. The 9@98 lays down a massive 4 weeks of standby and 7 hours of talk in an 88 gram candybar.
Though not available until July, the 9@98 (strangest name nomination) will most certainly be popular with those of us
who at times just need to make calls, over and over and over again.

Philips 568
Video is the focus of the 568, and at 87 grams it’s going to pack some serious ability into our pockets. A VGA
camera and 128x160 pixel display allow for either H263 or MPEG 4 video to be captured quickly and easily. A
dedicated camera button allows fast access to the recording abilities, though 3.2MB of available memory doesn’t sound
like a lot of room to work with. The triband 568 is available now. (In Europe)

Philips 655
Finally, the 655 takes vanity to heights heretofore unreachable. A mirror on the handset’s face will allow us to
frame our dirty mugs perfectly, you know, whenever we may want to take more photos of ourselves. 6MB of internal
memory will store around 1,000 ‘Hey look at me!’ photos that can be sent through MMS or showed through a slideshow
function similar to the 760. The 655 also includes a software mixer for creating up to 64 polyphonic
ringtones. All of this function and a 400 hour standby, 4 hour talk battery in a 85 gram clamshell that is available in Europe NOW.

Sandisk announced 1GB miniSD and 512MB TransFlash Cards

With better cameras built into cellphones and the ever groing hunger for more and more features, SanDisk now offers the first miniSD card with ONE Gygabyte of memory.

The SanDisk miniSD card includes an adapter allowing it to be used in any of the existing SD card devices. The new 1GB SanDisk miniSD card is expected to be available at the suggested retail price of $99.99 in Q2 2005.
However here is the official statement:
"The 1GB miniSD card provides a level of storage that significantly enhances the features and usability of these full-featured mobile phones," said Nelson Chan, executive vice president and general manager of SanDisk’s consumer and handset business. "For example, with a 1GB card you can store approximately 16 hours of MP3 songs, record up to several hours of MPEG-4 video or take more than 2000 digital photos on a 1-megapixel mobile phone. With that level of capability, consolidating music, video, digital camera and other key features into the mobile phone platform is much more meaningful and powerful."

SanDisk also announced was the 512MB SanDisk TransFlash, one of the smallest flash memory storage cards designed primarily for the mobile phone market.
